This app is very similar to Instagram and very popular amongst teens. They use it to share photos of themselves or artistic photos they take, follow celebrities and brands they like, and find other users to connect with. To protect your child, you should make sure their account is set to private. This means that any person who wants to follow them or see their posts has to be individually approved. Even with a private account, any person with on VSCO can visit your child’s page and request to follow them. When accounts are public, this is particularly dangerous. When using this app, children should not share their usernames for other platforms. There is also adult content to be found on VSCO. No minor should have a social networking or messaging account that their parent is unaware of. No child under 15 should have VSCO at all.

This app is gaining popularity and as more users discover this as a way to share inappropriate images, more adult content will populate the feeds.
